I believe everyone can and should be making extra money online right now. Whether that's making a full-time income online like I do, or even if it's making an extra couple thousand dollars a month to help you cover bills.
However, there has been a lot of videos posted recently about certain online side hustles... but a lot of those "side hustles" mentioned won’t make you much money and will eat up all of your time.
That's why it's important to be careful who you take advice from. Anyone promoting making money online by watching a bunch of videos or advising you to take surveys all day is not being fully honest with you. Those are not legitimate sources of income. They will end up also wasting your valuable time.
The reason I wanted to make this blog is to provide some content and value for anyone out there that needs a way to start making more money. This is not one of those ways where you're going to spend all day doing something and not get a return. This is not watching videos all day or filling out surveys all day. This is a real way you can build a side hustle that can supplement your existing income or completely replace it.
#1 - Copywriting
The first side hustle we will be going over today is a skill that anyone can provide. That skill is 'copywriting'.
Through copywriting, you are helping companies and businesses make more money by simply writing. The types of gigs and opportunities posted for copywriting freelancers are:
- Blogs
- In-depth articles
- Formal reports
- Emails
- Online Ads
- Print Media
- Websites
- Landing Pages
- Etc.
A good copywriter helps craft persuading words that actually get people to take action. Since more and more businesses are going online, they need well-written copywriting more than ever before.
The best part about copywriting is that it's an online side hustle that anyone can perform. Throughout the entire school system you were most likely forced to write countless essays and produce assignments which required writing.
You can use those same writing skills that you already have to start helping businesses. When performing copywriting as a side hustle, it's important to focus on the pain points and product benefits of the company you're working for.

Personally, I love designing things because it gives me a creative outlet and it also helps me make extra money. If you are thinking about getting into graphic design, the sky is the limit to how much you can earn while crafting fun designs.
With the advancement in technology, creating professional level designs is no longer a complicated skill that you need advanced programs to perform.
Digital design is a highly sought-after skill which means there are a lot of opportunities to get hired. This side hustle is in demand because business owners need help capturing their audience with:
- Social media graphics and images
- Website content
- Print media design
- Content creation
Graphic design plays a pivotal role in every businesses online presence. It can either help a business get noticed and thrive, or get ignored and die. If you are interested in design, I encourage you to try out

You can think of Canva as basically a free version of Photoshop. Featuring an easy to use drag-and-drop editor and countless preloaded templates for you to get inspiration from, including:

Of course, you're going to have to put some time into learning how to design different graphics, so the best thing you can do is START NOW.

Online Ad management is the third and final online side hustle you can use to start making money online. With this skill, you're working on platforms you're already familiar with.
But instead of using these platforms as a consumer scrolling, you will be creating and managing content in the form of advertisements. A lot of people don't know this, but the platforms I'm about to reveal are actually not free for you to use.
This is because advertisers use your data in return for you using the platform for free. As an online advertiser, the goal is to target the most relevant customers for your clients. This side hustle is used on a multitude of different platforms, such as:
- Google Ads
- Youtube Ads
- Facebook Ads
- Instagram Ads
Online advertising comes in the form of photo ads, video ads, story ads, and lead ads.
By setting up and optimize online ad campaigns, you're helping businesses get their product and services out there which ultimately makes them more money. That's why there's always room to provide this online side hustle and scale your income bigger than your current position.

The best part about this tool is you're not starting from scratch. If you want to work with a client and provide them online ad management, all you have to do is go to the Facebook Ad Library. You can search a competitor of your client, and see what they're doing.
From there, you can model after what is currently working in the marketplace. Since online ads cost money to run, It's helpful to understand the type of content that's working by seeing what ads are LIVE.
You can tell which types of ads, formats, styles, etc. that are making money because if they aren't, they will quickly be paused and won't be running anymore.
So even if you have no experience running ads for clients, when you take a look at the type of ads other people are running you can get ahead of the pack right when you begin!
In conclusion:
The last thing I want to touch on is that there's a lot of discussions going on about selling physical products online.
Whether that's going through your closet and selling old clothes, or buying baseball cards and selling them on ebay. The truth is, if you want to make real money, I suggest saving your time and avoiding this so called "side hustle".
Selling your stuff might be a great start to make a little cash, but it's not a profitable side hustle that can make you money long-term.
You're going to end up putting so much time into:
- Listing those products
- Answering buyers questions
- Selling those products
- Meeting up with strangers
- Shipping items and relying on the mail
If you're dealing with physical goods, it's going to take a lot of effort for a little amount of earnings.
If you want to have a long-lasting side hustle that is actually profitable, then start providing the SKILLS and the SERVICES you already have within.
By doing this, you can be making thousands of dollars a month and not even have to touch any physical product.
Now, there is something to be said for jumping into entrepreneurship too quickly. When you are beginning to make money from a side hustle, you should never abandon your first flow of income.
Sometimes when people want to go start a business, they're so eager to jump right in and they think they have to abandon their job immediately (the one that's actually paying their bills).
That puts a lot of pressure on yourself because if it takes a little longer to start your business than you expected and you left your one flow of income, you're out of luck.
Instead, you should keep that first flow of income (your day job) and start performing a side hustle on night's and weekends. That's when you can start to really get ahead.
You can then build that side hustle up to a point where it's bigger than your job.
THAT'S WHEN you have some room where you can leave that first position if desired to continue building
